Why does it deserve our mention?

It’s careful presentation, the origin of Olives and the sustainability of their environment.  In order to tell their story we must first go back 6000 years BC to understand the significance of the olives and the olive trees in Greek culture. Olive oil production started in its most primitive form around this time but it wasn’t until 2000 years BC that olive oil production became widespread throughout the region. We are talking about one variety of oil or more simply one type of olive known as Koroneiki, a fruity soft and very aromatic olive.  POQA oil is preserved in a beautiful glass bottle and uses a bamboo wooden plug to protect it from sudden temperature changes. The olive is pressed when it is still partially green giving the oil its characteristic freshness and intensity whilst maintaining its low acidity, around 0.2 º .
