Why does it deserve our mention? Because of the small variety of Sardines, the Pilchardus, a very thin, fleshy fish of a size that allows to savor them whole, an authentic gastronomic delight. It has a creamy texture and bright color. The brand guarantees that all the sardines proceed from the unique marine environment of the Galician Rias. The Rias are a natural phenomenon in Galicia which start at the coast, bathed by the Atlantic sea, and pierce inland. There are other species of sardines in other seas, but not as good as Pilchardus, that's why all CERs cans proudly guarantee the origin and variety of these particular sardines. The Peña family has a history of canning seafood which dates back to 1920. Previously cooked, gutted and packed by hand, the sardines bath in pure olive oil in a can which comprises thirty-five of them. Subtle, with a deep sea flavour in mouth and very tasty. The sardines get even better after being canned.
How should you eat or cook it? Alone or on top of toasted bread rubbed with tomato or buttered with a little salt.
What wine should you have with it? A white wine like Albarino Pazo de Barrantes
How should you keep it? In a cool, dry place.
Where can you buy it?,
