Why does it deserve our mention?

Molineta de Minaya saffron is considered the King of Spices.  Like other natural saffron from La Mancha, it is obtained exclusively from the flower of the plant with the same name, the red stigmas that grow from their center, which must be picked by hand and dried in a delicate artisanal process. This peculiarity, the spice, the terrain, and the climate contribute to this being saffron considered one of the best in the world.  To fully enjoy this refined product, we recommend that you always use saffron threads and not the powdered version, to avoid it being adulterated with other saffron or additives. It is well known in Spain for its use in many stews, or in the famous paella, to which it not only gives color, but also an additional, unequaled taste.  The Egyptians used saffron in their cooking, and it is attributed health benefits like the reduction of cholesterol and aiding in digestion. Minaya is a small town in La Mancha that continues the tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation.  About 200,000 saffron flowers are needed to make a kilo of dried saffron.  A pleasure for the senses of incalculable culinary value.
